I provide the following types of editing and manuscript preparation services:
- Developmental editing, copyediting, manuscript review, manuscript formatting, and citation style compliance checks
- Editing of nonfiction, fiction, creative writing, poetry, screenplays, academic writing (science, mathematics, AI/ML, and humanities), theses, dissertations, legal writing, marketing materials, business documents, and AI prompts
I am experienced in the following types of research and writing:
- Ecological/botanical (field, laboratory, and literature review research)
- Legal (case law with LexisNexis, court and police records from all jurisdictions)
- Curation and collections management (museum, herbarium, and arboretum)
- Genealogical (vital records, obituaries, family trees, newspaper archives)
- Historical (primary and secondary sources)
- Public policy (state agency policies, legislation, technical reports)
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML)
- AI fact checking and quality assurance
I am open to freelance editing, writing, and research work of just about any kind. My rates are typically based on those of the Editorial Freelancers Association. Communicating with clients via email is most efficient, but for those who wish to first have a phone call, I will provide a half-hour phone call free of charge. All subsequent phone calls will be billed at $75/hour to protect my editing and writing time.
Please contact me to discuss projects and pricing. See here for a portfolio of my past work, and here for more information on what to expect when working with me as an editor.
