Why does pricing vary?

Writers vary in their level of writing skill and experience, and first drafts will have more issues to address than will drafts that have gone through many rounds of revisions. When a draft has many grammatical errors, structural problems, or formatting issues, it will take an editor more time to work on the document. Some of my service fees are billed as hourly rates, since the amount of time needed to work on a given document varies too much to link to word count. Other services are more easily linked to document word count. Fees for these services will vary as presented below, and a preliminary assessment of the document before services begin will ensure the client knows which rate is applicable.
